PLZ help, pro tools mix splitting

Hey, guys I need help.

You know when you record a 60 minute mix into pro tools, it is 1 big wav file. When I burn it into a cd it sucks to forward 30 minutes just to listen to track 6. How do I make it so that it will burn at the right points so I can have 12 tracks that is a continuous mix. I have tried everything. From marking the points to splitting regions, nothing works. Plz help!!! thanks in advance

You could use something like Cool Edit to split up the wav file then burn the different waves you saved to their tracks seperately, but make sure you have no delay between tracks when you burn.

write a cue-file for it (search on google and you'll find out how)

Yes, either write a cue file, or use software that can do track settings for you (either dedicated stuff like CD architect, but most cd burner software like Nero (or Toast full if you're on a Mac) have such options).

Protools doesn't have any dedicated cd burning functions, so you'll have to do it externally.

Splitting the bounce into different files can be a solution too, but that's the one I prefer the least, because I had the unpleasant discovery that on some cd burners, even when pause is 0 seconds, you still had a little drop at the track intersections (earliest Mac superdrives to mention just one type).

I used samplitude to do the tracking for a full 60min track. I need not to use Cue Sheet to key in the Time Code. All I need to do is to lay the Track Point on that waveform. Afterwhich, I can directly burn the CD from there. Which is fast and easy. If you wan to do a cue sheet, you can note down which timing you had cut your track and load in file. It saved plenty of time by doing that. IMO Hope it helps

Its really easy to do in Nero, you just select when you want the track to be split, you can also set the time between tracks so it plays continuosly without counting down after a track.
