Actually, they don't. My sister works for Paladin Air Ambulance, located on the island. The closest airpad for a helicopter in the GTA is in Missisauge, and also Pearson has one.

Condos are okay, i don't see anything wrong with them there, hell i'd love to live in one of those - there needs to be a lot of work done other than that.
Besides condos are important because Toronto needs density, one of the major reasons why TTC is lacking in funds. |
Condos aren't the issue for me, as much as the fact the public has been mislead, yet again. David Miller promised an end to backroom dealing, using the Island airport as his poster-child. How inter-government level's PUBLIC dealing constitutes backroom is beyond me. The only force that seems to be benefitting @ the expense of the public and Toronto economy, are Miller's developer buddies. His ward he used to be councillor for, happens to be the one surrounding the airport, and knee-deep in condo-madness... gee, I wonder where he got the $$$ to run for Mayor...
Much like McGuinty's "Choose Change", he sang a good tune, and like the Pied Piper, is leading the rats around town.
Sorry to come down so harsh initially btw, but the roll-eyes seemed fairly dismissive, and I've been debating this on another forum for sometime.
