I plan on getting an Audiophile firewire but apparently you need some special pin connection to connect to your Pc...i dont want to spend some hundred bucks just to connect to my PC...is this true??

I dont know about the sound part of firewire, but its damn fast somewhere around 200kb/s. i use a firewire card for my ipod and the card comes with a fire wire so you can plug it to the thing you are using.

Firewire is very stable and it had the constant speed while transferring but nonetheless, PCI is the best a better quality.
USB2.0 can be faster then FireWire but it do not have the constant speed all the time(as what I heard of)
In most cases PCI is faster than Firewire or any other external connection.

Wasn't alanzo talking about the USB audiophile? The Firewire and USB version are quite a different beast.
About the RF noise, the PCI Audiophile is known to be very quiet. No problems there...

Eh I dono, he probably was. Either way I'd the the PCI version. Cheaper, and doesnt get in the way (unless of course you are low on PCI slots, or you don't know how to use one).
I mean if you really want something external and firewire, for 150 more than the FW audiophile you can get the firewire 410, coming with more outputs, inputs etc.
