Question about French DVD languages

Hi,

Probably the strangest question ever to grace these forums, but here goes.

Recently I've taken an interest in B-movies by the studio "PM Entertainment" and have been searching for as many movies of theirs as I can. One which I am interested in is "Deadly Target". I have searched for it and it doesn't exist on DVD format in the UK or USA. I can't remember how, but I discovered that it has been released on DVD in France.

I found this image of the DVD cover online.

Now I noticed that it says "Language: Francais" on the bottom right hand corner. Does this mean that it will be dubbed in French with no option of English? Or does it simply mean that it will be subtitled in French but have the original sound? Or will it be dubbed in French as standard but have English as an option? I doubt anyone will own this movie itself, but hopefully somebody will own enough to tell me how these formats work. It's an American made movie, so I'd find it odd if it didn't include the original English soundtrack but I don't want to go ahead and order something which I may not be able to listen to.

Thanks
Aloep

Hi!

Strange question you're right, and strange tastes in movie too!

I don't think this is an US made DVD, as it's a Zone 2 format, which is useed only in Europa and Japan as you probably know. this must be a french DVD for an american film, like most of all the others.

As it is a french DVD, and as it is not one of these block-busters with massive promotional material, you can be 100% sure the film is dubbed in french without any subtitle. The use of the word 'Language' instead of 'Langage' in French is probably nothing else than a typo. There is another one right on the front cover, as it's written 'jusice' instead of 'justice'. This only mistake would be enough for me to avoid buying the DVD, it's quite a sufficient indicator on the quality of the product!

Anyway, I'm not surprised you didn't find it in the US, but that doesn't mean it's not been edited. It's only a small release that does not really interest people apart from B-movies addict! This might also not be the real title of the film, try searching in the filmography of the actors.

Hope this helped, bye.

Thanks a lot.

Looks like I'll have to skip this release. I already own the other 2 movies which Gary Daniels did for the studio PM Entertainment and they have been released here on DVD, as well as what appears to be over 80% of their productions so it's probably only a matter of time before this one is released to, so I guess I'll just have to wait.

As for the quality of the movie itself, judging by the trailer I watched on videodetective.com and the other Gary Daniels/PM movies (I already own 17 movies from PM Entertainment), I pretty much know what to expect from it, and I always find these movies a great way to kill time , but perhaps the rarity of this one in particular is a bad sign.

I have searched google several times with different key terms, but that French release is the only version of this on DVD format I get pointed to.
