it's not really a "problem" it can just bother you a bit sometimes. you get used to it after a while though. i think even though no click is more comfortable, it's better to have one, that way you get used to it and never have trouble when running into one...

It would be better without it but it can be worked around...if you're getting a good deal on those mk2's I say go with them.

hellz yeah...
i have pretty old & used mk2s so on one of my dex, near the 0 mark it REALLY wavers. so much so that i cannot leave the track near there and i dont' dare try to mix it.
i have to always move the pitch of the other track if this track on this deck seems to want to be between the 1%s.
sux
wish i had the mk3s.

No problems here.

Hey dknylady, why don't you just buy new pitch controls, you could buy the m3d ones and have them put in.

Where can you get these? And would it be simple to install yourself? I alleviate the pitch lock problem the same way DKNYlady does. I find that the pitch increments get wider in between +-1% so it's not possible to get the same bpm as the other tracks. Luckily i got an m3d on the other side so I'm free to adjust the m3d when i get the mk2's speed as close as possible.

I dunno where you could find it, but I think most DJ places could get it if they don't have it already, as far as I'm aware, it you can install it yourself, just requires some soldering I think, but what your looking for is this:

You can get it much cheaper though.

whoops i meant i want mk5 s. damn my brain is messed up right now after finals.

anyway i have thought of doing this , and i really need to, but i've been lazy.

besides there is no way that i could install it myself, i don't care if you come to my house and show me, it ain't gonna happen. i can barely change a lightbulb.

you can get cheaper technics parts at the pioneer site, since pioneer owns technics.

for now i guess i'll continue to suffer.

if I find a record has to be pitched right around zero I just pitch the active track up a little. that doesn't bother me.

other than that, I remember seeing a web site where they sold the entire pitch slider unit, so you didn't have to solder it in...I forget where though, search this forum and u might be able to find it.

I actually PREFER the click being there... I have old and used MK2s, and I don't have any problems with the click/pitch speed at all.

Pioneer electronics and technics are two seperate companys. Technics is a branch of Matsushita whom owns panasonic as well.
