Problem with my vinyl

I am having a problem with my records, both are Scott_Bond_vs_Solar_Stone: Naked_Angel, one is a white lable, the other one is from made in england. For both the original mix, I just cant finish the last 3 or 2 mins, the needle just skipping away from it.
Any solution for it? Thanks.

Maybe your tonearm is configured wrong. If it's just those two records you can always crank up your needlepressure when u're about to play em.

If the records are just badly damaged i think you can put a little water on it while playin' so it stays on track better. That's not too good for your records though.

One thing I notice is that with some really new records the needle skips around a fair bit. I think part of that is because I like to keep the tonearm weight to a minimum. So, what I do is I crank up the weight for the first few times I play the song to help deepen the grooves a little bit. Maybe it's bad for the record, but if I can't play it in the first place and then afterwards I can, it makes sense to do it. In your case, maybe the record was just poorly pressed and the grooves aren't very deep, so you should try cranking up the tonearm weight also like I do once in a while. It's worth an effort. (Then again, maybe I just need new cartridges!)

*edit* just realized Wildfir3 said the same thing in about five sentences less. Oh well. I guess I'm reinforcing the idea.

if it is towards the middle there will be more tracking forces acting on the stylus. wack the weight up a little and play with your anti-skate.

if your deck had straight arms it would more than likely not do this

not sure if this good for everyone, but it works on one of my tunes that likes to skip (assuming none of the other advice helps):

when the tune is approaching the skip, you can put your finger on the record (like when youre speeding up a record) and push it through the skip. takes a bit of practice to get the right pressure/speed on it, ie you dont wanna be changing the speed of the record and get that horrible wobbling sound!

hope this helps.

i watched my vinyl play, and when it got to the bit that skipped, it vibrated violently from side to side, then skipped back. so i tried pushing the record thru the skipping part, and it worked. not sure if this works all the time, ive only got one vinyl that has this problem. youve just gotta be careful not to change the pitch one way or the other if its the live track.
