Time & Pitch Machine - Logic 6

Can anyone help me out?

Im sure iv'e done it before, but as simple as it looks i cant seem to get it right.

Im trying to stretch a vocal from 125 up to 138 bpm, (which i can do no problem) but how do i get it to have that kind of robot effect on the vocal. Iv'e tried transposing it down, but it still dont sound right.

Thanks in advance for any info.....

Do you mean vocoder? If it's that, then use Orange Vocoder...I have it and it's really good. Or use the vocoder in your hardware synth if it's got one. Oh, close the other twin topic you opened about this...people are going to think you're a n00b and won't help you out. I don't care, because I've been a n00b once and I know how it feels to not know much or ask something and be ignored.

i am pretty much a noob.

I have both the orange vocoder, and the EVOC20, but im pretty sure iv'e had that kind of effect off of the time & pitch machine alone before.

I suppose i could just try a combination of the two.

Sometimes dropping the pitch on vocals can make robotic types sounds, you're right, but it also changes the length of the sound, so if you want to simply apply a robotic feel to a vocal sample, a vocoder might be the best option. I've had trouble getting the robotic sound out of the orange vocoder though. It seems good for airy type vocals though.

I think there are pitch shifters that can alter the pitch without changing the tempo. I don't know the names of any software that does it though. Vari-Os is brilliant at in the hardware scope though.
