Yea I gotta say, it looks like it has nice features and would be fun, BUT, dam it looks like shit, like a plastic toy or something, my main rant about it, is you have to have this in a battle position, unless you wanna leave room for the CD to come out, and work with everything sideways.
They should make another version, and make it so you can use it regular style and have it not look like it was made by Fisher-Price.

I like that thing. A CD converted to 12" of fun!
But ya, it does look like Fisher Price and the battle position is not my favorite.

Yup, I think they look pretty retarded, but I suppose that looks aren't everything, particularly if the CDJs turn out to be durable, feature good build quality, etc.
sorry to bring this thread back but what is the song he is messing round with int the demo? its a cool as fuck tune! i know its some mix of nelly furtado - powerless (i think thats the name of the song)
see i dont quite get it though, cuz whether or not its a good quality piece of equipment, is it worth spending nearly twice as much as compared to decks for something thats going so far out of its way to emulate decks? wouldnt u just be better off with tts? i just dont get quite get it

Well its not trying to BE a turntable, its just trying to have the same basic control as one, but now you can play your own music and have some good effects and features.
Still looks like crap though, why don't they team up with Technics, and have the CDX inside the DZ1200, now that would be sweet.

this movie clip of the CDX was posted on the thread about the technics cd decks
and you can actually HEAR what the guy is demonstrating/saying.
higher quality vid too
personally i dont think it looks that much like a toy. also it all comes down to functionality and build quality over looks. im actually pretty interested when it comes to these kinda decks with built in effects functions and the attempt to give the feel of vinyl (even tho it might be not come close). im still glad i bought my 1200s a few weeks back!

I know djbattle.net did a review of the CDX (in swedish though), but they also included some pics and a video. I havent checked it out, but you can find it at http://djbattle.mine.nu/video/review/cdx.rm.
