If you're DJing a party, getting paid to do it, whether in a club or in a party then you are there to serve the crowd. If they request something you're already going to play, say "sure, I'll throw it in there". Do that with anything unless you have somebody request something like "It's Raining Men" or some shit like that where it is totally ridiculous and won't fit in the set. And if you actually have that record in your bag then you deserve to have to play it.

working in more commercial clubs this happens a lot.
They wont accept i cant play it until later, or ive already played it, or sometimes the really dumb ones ask for it as its actually playing (had that happen last week with Shapeshifters- Lolas theme.. lol)
Yes you are there to play what the crowd wants- up to a point. I have a bigger boss- the manager/promoter, and the music policy.
