It's clear that they're having problems with youngsters causing chaos around the mall.

The US has no respect for their youth and often treat them with contempt. Its no wonder many of them lash out violently at society.

I do agree with the rules though except the parental escort bullshit. Also the appropriate attire thing smacks of big brotherism. There is a dress code to go to the mall now? WTF????

Other than that the rest of the rules are pretty straight forward. If they are this worried about teens in the mall they should just hire security to deal with the trouble makers. Most teens are there to shop and buy things and if i were that age living near that mall id organize a huge boycott of that place. People under 18 are a huge source of revenue, especially in a mall.

Also, if i owned a store in that mall id be freaking out as well.

it's a good rule. at that time of day (night) gangs of hooligans used to congregate near the AMC.

and they never bought anything

legitimate shoppers were intimidated..

IMO the funniest thing about that mall are the hats the security guards wear!

needing to be accompanied by an adult to a mall when you are under 18 but still within legal age to be left alone in public is absolutely rediculous.

Does it though? A mall is private property, and therefore it is up to the owners to decide who is permitted to be there. Is it any different than appropriate attire for night clubs?

Sure its their right. And its the right of patrons to boycott stupid practices as well which is what people should be doing in regards to this mall.

LMAO Jay...you really have no idea what you're talking about here. I understand your viewpoint, but peel off your "people's superman" suit for a second.

Imagine a small city that even sleeps most of Friday and Saturday nights, with not much to do. A non-diverse culture, that really has no idea how to have a good time and enjoy their surroundings. Nothing like Toronto's shopping districts that are predictably rammed for vast periods of any day they are in operation.

You're left with a city that has a few shopping malls, the most popular of which is only busy for a couple hours on each of its busiest weekend days. Come nightfall, there is really nowhere for teens to hang out, since clubs are 21 & over for the most part. Since this mall is in Cheektowaga, and there is no useful subway system, the 18+ clubs downtown aren't easily accessible for those who are able to get in. Downtown Buffalo has NOTHING to offer besides clubs and the sports arena.

This is all that kids have to do. Kids camp out in the food court area in large groups, harassing people and causing trouble, VERY RARELY buying anything.

Your political plight would fail geatly in this situation. While I'm on your side in many others, this is one wheret you would agree with me if you knew more about the matter.

FYI - they don't ID at doors of this mall. If you're loitering, causing trouble, and not shopping, you're not welcome, as you shouldn't be in any place of business. If you're 16/17, and you're shopping, they're not going to give you grief.

I'm guessing alot of the people from Buffalo trek down to Windsor when they turn 19. Can you verify or refute that??? Or perhaps they skip Windsor and head to Toronto since its closer?? I'm really curious. Downtown Windsor is getting so over-run by Americans every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night that its getting out of hand. I don't mind them coming over to have a good time, but alot of them are just completely disrespectful and always starting fights and just looking for trouble... acting like they own the fucking place.

Regardless, Do you not find it somewhat weird how certain big cities in the US have nothing much to offer for younger crowds, while others seem to have too much. Every time I passed through Sacramento I ask myself, "how could I ever live in this city if I wasn't at least 40?" The city just always seemed too quaint and cozy.
