Whats the difference between?

...and any other kind of mixer you can think of?
Please help me!

A Power Mixer is a mixer with an amplifier in it.. so you don't need an amp.. you kust plug the speakers to the mixer. It's usualy used for mobile DJ'ing.

A mixer is a mixer, and a scratch mixer is a mixer that the CrossFader in it has a curve that suits for scratching and the line faders are close to eachother, so you can control both of them with one hand.

Well im new, so i dunno wot to get. I just wanna mix in my bedroom 4 now until i get confident enuff to go anyplace public.
So I dont think i want a power mixer cus i am gunna use my stereo to run my decks thru.
So do i want a scratch mixer or a normal mixer cus i am a beginner?

it depends on what style of music, i take it trance. You don't really need a full scale scratch mixer, so you can buy just a good quality mixer. I recommend stanton or techincs. Yea and as for the power mixer. You said you wanted to put it through your stereo at home. Well that already has an amplifier in it. So you don't need a power mixer if you already have an amplifier in the sound system. So you can just get a good mixer. Ohh yea i like vestax too they are one of my favs for mixers. But i spose it's just gotta be suited to your style the mixer.

As a newbie, is it worth me getting a BPM mixer?

If by BPM mixer you mean a mixer with a BPM counter I'd say it's not worth the money at all! If you're planning on ever playing live with equipment that is not your own than you can bet the mixer won't have a BPM counter or any other kind of "artificial help". You're best off learning how to beatmatch/mix through the use of only a pair of headphoes and cue switches. It doesn't take long to get the basic idea about beatmatching and this way you won't be dependent on your equipment more than you have to.

what do you mean by cue switching?? the cue switch, what is it?? is that just the thing you select inputs with??

Cue switching is the dial that let's you choose which channel(s) you can hear in the headphones. So you can hear what your mix would sound like before you actually play it over the speakers.
