Denon DN-S5000... the platter actually spins, unlike the Pioneers. And it can play MP3 CDs as well.

It looks sweet, but right now for me, for the money, the CDJ-800 would be my choice. It is a little more reliable than the cdj-1000. The CDJ-1000 mkII is obviously the best of the best (for CD players), however, for the money I think the 800 is a better deal.

I would love to try the Denon decks, and the new technics decks. the competition in the digital market is amazing, and that means the advancements will be just as nice!

i would suggest the 800 because the 1000 doesn't offer too much of an upgrade but the increase in price is crazy.

1000's and 1000'sMK2 are industry standards, pretty expensive
there is really not much different between 1000 and 800, just the price and some extra cue feautures on 1000'2
800 you can easily use as bedroom dj set up
but again for the price I would reccomend to get just 100's for bedroom set up

with the 100 it doesn't offer the looping which is an interesting feature which is used a lot in the clubs. but on an upside it has some effects that the upper versions don't have.

Yeah, not so sure about the 100's, there very basic. They're great for learning how to use CD decks, but once you've learned, you'll be very limited with them.

What do you think of the 800's? How is the pitch control? I have Numark dual tables, CDN 88's, the pitch is shite, and I'm looking to upgrade. Does anyone know of any good sites to look for used equipment?

I have a 100 at home, and yah, great for playing a CD, but no effects really (the 3 built in, only 1 I would ever use really). I'm thinking of getting a CDJ-800 to add to the mix. A) to add a 2nd CD-player, and B) I'd like to play around with the looping features it has. The 1000/1000MK2, they're just too expensive for some home use IMO. They don't offer enough to justify the price increase. Yes they have a wave form output on the screen but I don't really think that's all that necessary, decks don't have any output.

I've got a pair of the 800's and a buddy of mine has a pair of the 1000's. For the most part, i never notice the differences between the two, other then the price tag.

the Tech CD player has gotten nothing but bad reviews from everyone I know all though I have yet to play on them.
