King DJ'ing buzz

When I'm really tearing shit up on the decks, I get a huge buzz. Today I was mixing house and techno records really fast and playing around with tricks and stuff, and all over sudden when I took off my headphones it was 3 hours later, my heart was racing, and I felt like I was rolling... it's like a drug-free high.

Do you guys ever get that feeling when you're on?

My personal fav is when two records aren't matching up and you're getting so frustrated but then you get em matched and nail the mix...I'm constantly bobbing my head but when that happens I start doing the crazy dance and stuff.

my favorite is when you randomly put the pitch where you think it should be, and it turns out to be matched perfect. Or when you're playing a record from the end to find the first beat and it matches itself right there for you.

my favorite is when you're trying to pick the next best song ... and when you put down the record you didn't even have to move the pitch, thats how perfectly you picked the next song. (sorry its a little different from whats above)

See when that happends to me I get all paranoid that it can't actually be perfect even tho I know it is. Then when it is I get kinda bored, unless I have something to do drink/play with stuff and want to start mixing at inappropriate times.

But yeah I get the buzz it happens less often recently cos I'm getting pissed off at not being able to have the volume loud. But when the vol is high and tunes are going nothing beats it.

My biggest buzz was when I first mixed with actual consistancy for two hours. I taped it and listened to it still hyped up and it was next to perfect. Everything just flowed and nothing else in my life mattered. It was a great day. I still get that huge rush when the two records are mixing perfectly.

Hehe same here... i'm pretty much overexcited when all of my records fit in and all of my mixes are near perfect. I can also remember the first time i matched two records for the first time and damn, i had a huge smile on my face for an entire day

Sometimes i feel a huge rush of energy flowing through my body when i mix two perfect tracks (you know, those kind of tracks which you can't play one without playing the other)!

My face even turns red and i start to sweat immediately... Strange, but true.

I love it when you're 'in the zone' for want of a better phrase. I played at a competition last night and I knew I was on form so instead of cueing the record and checking I was enjoying the track with my headphones off and really playing to the crowd. Cos I knew that I'd be able to mix it in and that'd it'd be perfect. Them feelings are ace! I only had a few minutes left aswell so I thought I have to play my last track so I managed to mix it in early and it sounded soooo nice I was loving it! Just thinking about it makes me wanna get back on the decks!

I was mixing yesterday, with the volume up nice and loud. I had a perfect mix with perfect tracks... I was smiling, pounding my head to the beat, dancing my ass off, and had goosebumps all over. It was probably one of my best sets.
