Drum samples

does anyone know of any good software that i can play with to makes some drum beats or some minor beats to start off with?

the drum machines and samplers in reason 2.5 are fantastic, and fruityloopz is also cool to make beats with. i personally prefer reason, i find it a lot easier to work with, i find that fruity is a bit all over the place for me.

for both programs i would reccomend getting some drum samples. some of the samples that come with reason & fruity are ok, but as with most default sample banks, they are not fantastic

this is a very under-rated technique, especially if you have an effects unit, you can do some really, really, REALLY cool noises
