so im sitting on the bus on the way to work this morning, its about three quarters full. I'm sitting at the in the corner at the back of the bottom deck, so i've got four seats next to me (all are full excpet the one next to me), and two opposite, facing me. I realised that no one would actually sit next to me, or in the seats opposite, and yet there were people standing.....

was it beacuase i had headphones on, and was nodding to the music
was it because i have spiky hair
or maybe it was because i had shorts on
i dunno, maybe i smell,
or possibly, like the thread title suggests, i have some weird abnormality that everyone but me can see
or maybe i just look like a c*nt

i get the same on buses in london, i notice that black people only seem to ever choose to sit next to black people.

many factors come into play here .. for example if a bus looks packed and i reckon its going to get even worse then ill chose to stand somewhere near the front out of the way then take a seat at the back simply to make it easier to get off the bus at the journey end..

perhaps it is your image tho .. sitting on the backrow .. rebelling against society .. an old pensioner dare not invade your space and sit by you ..

it means during transportation, u dont have to put up with sharing a seat, or having some sweatybill next to u, an old dear asking u if uve passed ur exams, or the town spastic.

man, the lengths i went to on the school bus to avoid having someone sitting next to me lol!

people don't generally like the top back of the bus, and if the rest of the bus is full they may not be able to see the seats are free.

i wish i had three seats free around me on the bus, all the smells that eminate from some ppl euk

on the rare occasions i take the bus by myself, if i think somebody is going to sit next to me who i cant be arsed to deal with i will make sniff actions with my nose or move my head about in random rapid motions so they walk on by. easy life all the way, means you can sit in a relaxed pose, not having some old pissy bugger sitting next to u taking the whole 2 seats up so much that u nigh on have to cross your legs and possibly temporarily crushing one's testicles or catching flu or just having to deal with that smell or last weeks dinner/cat piss on their coat touch your frequently washed t-shirt.

offensive, yes, but not as much as they can be to you that wasn't entirely serious, but life is easier on the bus by yourself lol

i havent caught the bus in years, always ride to college or anywhere thats out of walking distance.

but if i did get on the bus, id sit anywhere that was free

then take my bag off and chuck it next to me (if the bus aint too full so i dont get the random nutter sitting next to me)

theres always the one crazy nutter that gets on the bus...

I've not been on a bus for years (thank god) but when I did used to get them to college and especially on my way home from my ex's late at night it was full of wierd and wonderful wierdos!

That's just the way it is on buses. Everyone wants their own personal space, they just want to get from point A to point B with as little interaction with other people as possible. If that means standing rather than sitting next to a stranger (especially one with seven eyes), then they'll stand. For all they know, you could be a knife-wielding maniac, bubbling with rage and on the verge of a bloody killing spree. At least that's what I expect of most people who travel on buses.

Rest assured though, I'd share a seat on a bus with you. I'll be your friend...
