Giro d'Italia

Don't know if any of you guys are into cycling or the Giro this year, but did any of you catch what Tonkov did after he won yesterday's stage? I don't know if I should laugh or be deeply offended. For those of you who don't know the gesture, its the same as an American middle finger.

The Giro has come and gone. If you're in the States, OLN is pretty good about showing the big pro road races. The big story about this year's Giro was rookie Damiano Cunego taking the race pretty handedly. He took it from team mate Simoni, but there doesn't appear to be any hard feelings.

The big daddy, the Tour de France is almost here! I can't wait to see how Lance does! (All on OLN)

Man I watch the Tour de France every year and I make sure to watch every update on it too. I prefer the mountain stages and time trials though because thats when you see all the big name guys really trying hard and they are more dramatic.

The NBC coverage of the TDF SUCKS! They only use small clips and put in cheesy music to try to make it more dramatic. OLN is def the best coverage. I wish they had other races though, I don't recall seeing the Giro on it.

I dont like racers that are arrogant like that guy in the photo, I prefer guys that are more humble. Of course I have to root for Armstrong though, besides Michael Jordan I'd say hes the greatest athlete i've ever seen.

For those of you who get OLN, here is their cycling schedule. Unfortunatly, there's really no big events until the tour. Although I will say that the Lance Chronicles every Thursday are pretty interesting.

I'm hoping for Lance to win this year, but I must say the field will be tough. Heras, Hamilton, Simoni, Ulrich...all will be hunting for Lance. Should be fun to watch.

I must say Lance is amazing, but I think I'm rooting for Ulrich. Would be nice to see Armstrong being the guy that wins 6 tours (and in a row) though.

EDIT: Shit, we do have OLN!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't be able to watch it though, fuckin' internship

I think right now Tyler is my dark horse. I'm not really a Lance fan per se, but what he has done for the American cycling scene is nothing short of amazing. Him winning a sixth could finally give professional cycling a foothold in America. It's a sport I love and participate in and a sport I think Americans would love if given the chance.

I think Heras will be Amstrongs main rival since he has worked closely with him over the past few years being on the same team. Plus he is also a great climber.

Also gota be patriotic and look out for Miller, hopefully get the prologue and maybe one of the other stages

I think tyler's got a great chance of winning it... I mean, he finished 4th with a broken collarbone last year, imagine what he can do healthy.

phonak is a new team, though, so we'll see
