The Best VST Effects

I'd like to get a good list and discussion of the best VSTs for different effects.

For example, my favorite compressor VST is the Classic Compressor... It gets me where I want to go, for the most part, in terms of compression.

For warming up things, I like RubyTube. It does what it tries to do well. I throw it on FX channels for kicks, synths, and other things.

I've been stuck with Fruity reverbs and delays so far. Could anyone recommend me better plugins in this area?

Any other plugins you guys like?

Personal favorites and incredible in my opinion,

Limiter/Compressor = PSP Vintage Warmer

Delay= PSP 42 and 84, Ohmboyz

Reverb: Any of the ones that load impulses, like SIR, Pristine Space, etc..

Waves RVerb is just amazing.. (reverb)

for limiting I use Sony Wavehammer.. it comes with Sound Forge and does what it's supposed to..

in general, waves makes some of the best plugins.. I use their Q10 EQ and RVerb on all of my tracks..

I would like to know of a good chorus and sonic distortion (not a tube distortion emulator) if anyone has a favorite

* Antares Filter, without a doubt the best filter out there.
* Antares Tube -- amazing tube/overdrive.
* Rennaisance compressor.
*PSP Vintage Warmer is quite nice as well, combining a compressor and distortion in one which can be very handy.
*Spectral Design/Steinberg ME FreeFilter --> Got problems with master eq, then this baby will sought you out. It takes an eq print of a song you like the general eq of, then it changes your track to match the other one, while showing you the frequencies that need to be cut/boosted.

i use ohmboyz delay most of the time, but you might check retrodelay (freebie) which is pretty nice.
about reverb, the best out there are convolution reverbs (pristine space by voxengo, irverb or something like that by waves, SIR), but if you are willing to give a chance to a rather nice freebie, get ambience. there is also one pretty well rated limiter freebie - tls maximizer. and about compressors, dunno, i use ultrafunk compressor quite a lot lately, and vintage warmer for master.

the waves L2 is just an amazing tool (but that's more relevant if youre into mastring like me)

waves C1 and C4 also rock, great sound and easy to use

but when it comes to compressors I like the TC electronics native bundle compressor the most due to it's sidechaining feature
