Lightbulb Swiss tactics

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_989073.html

Swiss newspapers are offering readers a cut-out voodoo doll of an England player to torture in the hope of putting a jinx on the team ahead of their Euro 2004 clash.

The caption on the cut-out that has a resemblance to captain David Beckham reads: "Help give England heavy legs on June 17.

"Let's all rip this page out, pin it on the wall and stick in nails, needles and staples. If we believe it will work, then it will."

It has been reproduced in hundreds of Swiss magazines and newspapers in three languages to make sure the message gets across. To co-ordinate it 12 Swiss ad agencies have joined forces to see the message hammered home.

Elie Peter, news editor of Switzerland's biggest-selling daily, Zurich-based Blick, said: "It's the game of the tournament for Swiss fans. We really want to win this."

I really, really hope England pounds the Swiss about 4 nill. I hear tell we're the laughter of Europe...it's high time to silence them all.

Yeah it's a massive game for us.

The players know they played well against France and they have had to get over the defeat together, but you can see this has strengthened their resolve and their team spirit. I just hope they don't gethot under the collar if we're not in the lead after 30 minutes, if they can carry their motivation, resolve and team spirit onto the pitch against Switzerland we can get things back on track and move onwards and upwards.

I do not think it worked! Still proud our country made it and gave England a match for quite some time. I also think the players watching the France-Croatia match gave some inspiration to them to beat the French! If Croatia can tie Switzerland can also.
