ok guys heres a little beta document tell me how this helps you and what you may need me to elaborate on.
Ok well here is the basic concept of some genral chord progressions. Again im gonna say this is very basic....
Alright first we all need to know the music has intervals of whole steps and half steps. C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B . Going from C to D, or F to G would be
moving in a whole step where as going from C C# or A to A# or E to F would be moving in a half step. Got that? Good lets move on...... Next is key......the key of
music is gonna very the way your peice sounds Lets look at some examples of keys the key of C major has no sharps or flats. The major scale pattern is
like this (w=whole step, H=halfstep). W-w-h-w-w-w-h now looking back at the intervals of music move up beging on the home note C and you see
it goes C D E F G A B C. Where as say a G major scale would be like this G A B C D E F# G... Now im not gonna get into how to create your own chords...
well because thats a hell of a lot more typing you can normaly find a good chord book at your local music store or you can find chord generators online
Ill try and post some links later. Now for the chord progressions... Ok let me teach some basic terminology hopefully you all know roman numerals.
I II III IV V VI VII etc. being major chords. i ii iii iv v vi vii etc being minor chords. So lets do some chord progressions soo you get the idea. By the way
I am only teaching BASIC circle progressions again music is almost limitless...... here are some of the most common progression patterns
I - V - I or 1 5 1
I - ii - V - I or 1 2 minor 5 1
I - IV - V - I or 1 4 5 1 (this is what most blues are writtin in)
I - vii - ii - V - I or 1 7 minor 2 minor 5 1
So a C chord progression in the key of c would look like this using thoe above paterns to count up the scale...lowering case being a minor chord and upper
case being a major chord. On another note im using all sharps to make this a little easier to undetstand
Scale being C D E F G A B C
C G C
C d G C
C F G C
C b D G C
The same exact chord progressions in the scale of G
Scale being G A B C D E F# G
G D G
G a D G
G C D G
G f# b D G
A# major or Bflat major
Scale being A# C D D# E F G A# or more comonly writtin Bflat C D Eflat E F G Bflat
A# E A#
A# c E A#
A# g c E A#
try making a major scales from any note just remember to move in following step patern w w h w w w h
