im not sure about this but can you even plug decks straight into a line input? you would need a DI box or a preamp to boost the signal from mic level to line level. you run the whole lot through an external mixer because its not a good idea to have your sound source go straight into your recording source. cuz ive really hurt my ears from pre amping my guitar and putting it straight into line inputs. switched on my speakers and forgetting they were set ear bleeding loud volumes from producing in floops. the feedback knocks you for 6 and hurts your ears for days afterwards.

Do you want to plug your mixer into the comp or your tts straight into the comp? IF your pluggin in the tts you neeed an amp because the tts has a different output then normal. Or if your getting the problem with the mixer into the computer it could be an earthing problem maybe try different cables

Re: hooking up tt's with computer???

Picture 1) Ok on the first picture u got a RCA to Line-in Adapter, which you can buy at Radio Shack ( the darker side of the picture ). I am assuming you have mixer along with your decks, so the RCA cable on the lighter side of the picture will go to your mixer's "Record" Jack. I only plug in one RCA head into the adapter because it only allows you to plug one in.

Picture 2) Now that you have your adapter connected to the mixer, you must plug in the other side of the cable to the line-in jack of your computer... that is what it looks like in the 2nd picture. Once you have done this, go to your audio settings or your volume control and make sure your Line-in Channel is not on 'mute' if it is unmute it by clicking the 'check' in the box, and move the volume slider of the channel to your taste. Just don't put it TOO loud, because then your recording will sound like shit.

Grab any type of recording program (the simplest also) to Record your mixing (Soundforge, Adobe Audition, and etc.) It might not sound 'top' notch, so what you will have to do, if you want, is master your mix. I personally use Adobe Audition, but any type of audio editing program such as "audition" will do. And that is another story...

Hope that helped, and I'm sure there are other ways to hook up your equipment to your pc, but is just my method.

bye,

rj / space pirate
