björk - hidden place (extalin's paxil shock mix - part one)

http://www.rb2k1.com/extalin/comple...-_part_one).mp3

timestretched down % 8.6 and totally out there... i dunno where it came from, but i was working on a track and was toying with the idea of putting vocals in it.. after looking around on my hard drive i ran across the acapella for hidden place and although i had never heard it before, i decided to start messing with it.. that's when i time stretched it down to the bpm of the track i was working on and low and behold when i layed the acapella down on top of the in-progress track, they fit together perfectly! it was so amazing to me (because the likelyhood of something like that happening is ridiculously small) that i got inspired to continue on with a remix of it which turned into this slightly experimental track that i have a feeling you might just like.

it's 4:21 and very different from anything i have done before. i really like it though. and björk has a really cool voice!

hope ya like it,
-rob

p.s. part 2 is just an abstract idea in my mind right now, but i have a feeling it will be manifested sometime soon

this could be HUGE!
If you just changed those synths that sound trance...too common.
I was really impressed...sriously dont be afraid to go FAR into experimentation...

hehe, thanks man.. that is good to hear someone say to go more into experimentation because i find myself trying to stick to genres a lot while i really feel deep down like doing totally my own thing. so, that is really nice to hear.

i started this yesterday and finished it today, and at first i wasn't planning on leaving it like this. but i burned a cd with a bunch of björk tracks and remixes (including this one), and after listening to it i decided it was ok to leave this as it's own track.. around that time is when i got the idea to do a second part. so.. part 2 is going to be much more involved

anyway, thanks for listening

peace,
-rob

Whoa this is totally my kind of stuff, i usually hate all that semi-cheese trance.

keep at this, this kind of music is not as popular as the usual 4/4 trance, but its great, cuz its a new thing every time you listen.

this is a nice chill tune, maybe you should add some more percs though...

hehe, ok.. now that i've gotten some feedback.. part 2 is going to become some sort of full project and percussion is going to be number 1 on the list...

so, until part 2 comes along. just float in space with me!

thanks for checking it out. i really appreciate the comments

Not bad, but definitly needs alot of work. If you like the synths personally then don't remove them, but I think they would be better overall with the whole format if it's just atmosphere synths used.

I don't know, kind of odd all around. It has potential to be much better.

Just play around with it a bit more and don't finish with it until your really happy with it.
