I've seen interview in the US that were direct and pointed but more often against people like OJ and celebrities rather than political figures. Many ppl don't like OReilly and such but they can really go on the attack sometimes. |
I think something can be gained from O'Reilly's approach. On the one hand, his straightforward direct tactics are admirable, but then he often goes towards badgering, ill-temperment, and cutting off responses when he does not hear what he wants to hear. Furthermore, even if he has a guest on from which he respects, if that guest does not agree with him at all, O'Reilly tries to settle on the most minor of issues he could at least get the guest to agree with him on (that was a bad sentence, but you get my drift). Often times this tactic loses the focus of the argument entirely.
So while I think some things could be taken from O'Reilly's approach, much can also be subtracted from it as well.
