Review + Pics : Teknobrat , Miko and Driss @ Full Moon Party [Casablanca/Morocco]
first of all , it's been a long while since i've been to a "strictly electronic music" event , exactly since november 15th 2003 : Max Graham's Shine @ Aria. and God it felt so good to be partying all night with the music i like !
the party was taking place in a private beach located 25kms away from Casablanca , no need to tell you it's awesome to party "en plein air" with a cool breeze that refreshes you , no matter how much people are in the place you can still breath fresh oxygen and hear the waves breaking on the shore ... simply wonderful !
we arrived (me and two friends) at 11:30 exactly , and there was this dj from Ibiza called Mat-Oz spinning some tech-house. approximately 45 minutes later, Teknobrat started playing some great ass techno , i started enjoying myself , and at 1am he was already laying the hard shit , alas the crowd couldn't handle this type of music : they weren't unfortunately musically educated enough to enjoy the nice beats Teknobrat was throwing. at this moment i thought of the peurfs telling to myself "C'EST LE DJ QUE TU VEUX VOIR"
i didn't check at what time Teknobrat finished his set , but he closed it with the legendary Ralphie B. - Massive ... wow hearing Massive , the beach in front of you , the crowd ... brought back some wicked souvenirs.
then it was Miko's turn , it was officially his first time playing in Morocco his home country , and he threw lots of prog/house/tech bombs :
Chable & Bonnicci - Ride (Alternative Route Remix)
Sasha - Bloodlock (Chable Remix)
Villanord - Futurescope (this one was for MOFO ZinG)
Cave - Street Carnival (you all know how i dance like a crazy on this one)
Preach - Frontiere (w00t Intec 0wnage)
needless to say Miko was rocking the place , teaching to us moroccan fools how great electronic music is haha.
right after Loki alias Driss took the wheels of steels , he played a nice remix of Underworld - Born Slippy , but 20 minutes later the police rushed the place , asked to turn off the music and shut down the party ... WHAT THE FUCK ????? the event organizers had an authorisation to keep playing until 4:30 am , but the police didn't care , the fuckin' pigs invaded the place , chased the people out of the dancefloor and asked everybody to leave. people kept on screaming and singing , asking Driss to keep on playing , but the police chief didn't want to let anything continue. the organizers and the crowd asked for some background music so everyone can leave the place "satisfied", but they refused all the propositions saying they were just executing orders ... orders from who ? no one knows
i was feeling bad for Driss , the guy put some great effort for this party and was looking forward to playing till the end , but he was terribly disappointed
this is the state of the scene in my country , there are a couple of people putting an incredible amount of effort and energy to promote the whole "thing" , but there's always someone or something to break what you want to build.
at least it's better than nothing , i had my fix tonight (God i've been waiting so long) and i can't wait for the next party !!
as a good old TA would say : PICS OR STFU
