Invisible Grin Coming to Toronto Oct 4th - 7th....What to do!??!

Hey guys...I'm a long-time TA but first time poster. I've been reading your boards for quite a while and it seems to me like you guys know your shit so thats why I'm here for advice. I'm visiting Toronto from Los Angeles next month and I was hoping to get a few pointers on where to party.

I know Tiesto is spinning at Guv on the 6th...but the thing is..I have a wedding to go to that night and won't be able to get there until around 2a.m....would they let us in at that time or would it be too late? What time do you think Tiesto will spin?

We need some clubs to hit up on that thursday and friday. We were thinking of hitting up Guv on Friday...just in case we cant make it there on Sat. night. What do you guys think? Do they play trance on Fri. nights?

What's there to do on a thursday night!? We're flying in that night and we definetly wanna go out! IF anyone can give us some good clubs that go off on thursday nights, it'd be greatly appreciated.

All in all, us cali heads can't WAIT to see how Toronto parties

While I'm at it...what do you recommend we do during the daytime? Any good tourist spots/kick it spots where we can meet some fine Canadian hunnies?

OK, one more question...how old do you need to be to rent a car in Canada? In the US, you have to be 25...but one of my friends is 21...would he be able to rent a car?!

OK, I would like to thank you guys ahead of time for the info.

Latez

Well I'm not going to answer all your questions, but one thing is for sure, DON'T go to Guv on a Friday!!! All they play is hip-hop and rnb. There's nothing wrong with that, but it sounds like you want dance music. Probably one of the best places for a Friday would be System Sound Bar on Peter St. Its more of a progressive house night, but they usually bring in the quality talent and everytime that I've been there, I've always had a good time. You should check System out, but that's only one suggestion...

Thursday night are pretty tough here... Ill try to find some smaller places that might play trance but for sure System on Friday night and no worries about getting in for Tiesto in my opinion. He wont probably be on till around that time anyhow (His set finished at 5am at Wintergalactic i think).
UNLESS the place is sold out, but theres no way of that happening, the place is huge!

if you want to look for girls in the day check out Eaton's Center for sure. Then jump on the subway up to Bloor and Young, always fine ladies there.

I think you can rent a car here if you are twenty one, but of course you have to pay there stupid inflated insurance prices i am guessing.

But if you are staying downtown Toronto you might not even need a car to get around.

C ya at Tiesto!

renting a car at 21 is alright, as long as you have a credit card.
i think i rented from "hertz" and they didn't even take a deposit on my card.
but if you're staying in downtown, it's way easier to take cabs or transit... parking's a bitch.

and i third the system on fridays recommendation. they used to be trancier, but are now into more prog house, but the headliners are killer.

as far as spottin the hunnies, it's all about QUEEN WEST.
walk west along queen street, from university. all the trendy clothes shops, good record shops, and tons of girlies to be seen

wow thanks a lot for all the info...I really appreciate it!

So, I guess there's no clubs going off on thursday? How about bars? Something? Anything? What do you guys recommend?

"Something? Anything?"

You can head to 'My Apartment' on a thursday night, I only suggest this because it's $2.50/drink all night (domestic beer and mixed drinks). Just a bar with your typical billboard top 40 music. Little dance floor, two floors and a fairly large patio.

As for Rentals, someone mentioned Hertz. As of this day, you must be 25 to rent from them (Corporate customers excluded). Some companies like Budget for example, will allow you to rent being 21, but there's a premium for it (paid $20/day more when I rented).

Special K,

I'm looking for trance. But rap/top40 kinda shit is okay if the scene/place is nice enough. Those places you mentioned, do they have a website or phone #? Where can I find out their locations?
