Monkey Dancer 2 Mk5 vs MK2's

Well I have enough money for 2 mk5's or 2 mk2's. The 5's will make me flat ass broke. The MK2's will make me close to broke but with a lil extra spending money for other things. So I was wondering, are the 5's worth being broke over. I mean the mk2's are just about the same but from what I see they have the reset and no 0 pitch lock. Info on what you would do if you were in my situation would be greatly wanted. Thx.

I think most people would agree that they are not at all worth it. If your buying used, look for m3ds, as they are just like mk5's but sell for mk2 prices. Spend the extra money on records

They don't make them anymore...you're most likely only going to find them used.

I think you just answered your own question there. I have had the MK2s for about five years now and absolutely love them. I have never had any trouble with my tables and have never wished that I bought the MK5s instead. I would have no use for the 0 pitch lock, as I'm sure you won't either.

Go for the MK2s (used if possible) and spend the rest of your money on records!

i was in the same position you were in a few months ago. I could get a Mk3 second hand or a Mk5 for almost double. I ended up getting the Mk3 - no problems so far. My 2 yen would be to get the Mk2 but that's only becuase i'd rather use the money on other things (like records). On the other hand, the Mk5 will be shiny new and under warranty if something should happen. I guess it comes down to peace of mind and money - the difference in features on the Mk2 and Mk5 are not that much.

You all are correct. I just brought 2 M3Ds not too long ago. One from Guitar Center, the other from Ebay. Both were used. These tables are made to last at least 10 years.

i got mk5s because my parents wouldnt fair getting stuff off ebay but i got my mk5s pricematched at guitarcenter for 418 which is about the same price as a mk2 i think (?) anyways it's personal preferance but i think it'd be a good idea to get the mk2 so you can have more money for records!

Or get m3d's i <3 mine 4 evar

I own MK2's, and I picked them over the 5's because they were way cheaper in price, and the notch is something I actually like. It gives you a good feeling to hit it. Atleast for me. It also gives you an idea of where you are on the pitch scale if you aren't looking at it, or it is dark.

And yeah buy your tables in black. They look veryyyy veryy sexy in black.
