Okay, before anything else, these headphones were awesome. I loved em. After 2 years of use, its time to finally retire them. No, they didn't crack, the left headphone side (the one I use) finally munched it and blew. I guess I could crack em open and switch the speaker from the right side over to the left, but I am not going to be that cheap. Anyways... 2 years. Thats pretty good.

Now I am trying to decide whether or not to go with the same kind or try something new....

2 years isn't good @ all.....i've had my sony 7506's for 5 years and still goin strong

personally i have found that sound degredation occurs in headphones noticeable from 18 months of heavy use. with the cones being so close to your ear it is easy to hear just how some of the frequencies are not broadcasted effectively when compared to a new pair of the same model.

Try the Sony MDR-V6, I had 2 pairs and they've worked very well for me. I like the midrange/high treble boost, it makes beatmatching very easy using hi-hats and percussion. The only thing I can't comment on is how well they work in the club, as the isolation is somewhat thinner than the 700's. Also consider the Sens HD-280, I havn't used them myself but have heard they have similar boosted mid/highs and the isolation should be more formidable than the Sonys.

Hehe, I just own some MDR-V150s :P But for a bedroom DJ they do the job

i've got a pair of 7506's and love 'em. i've still got the v700s they replaced but they are my back up's. the 7506/ v6's are really nice

i have hd 280s and i love them. they have good iso and put out a good mids and bass. i havnt tried the 700s but ill give my vote for the hd 280s
