Well, for the purposes of a recording-quality or an audiophile-quality headphone amplifier... no, your mixer probably won't work. It should make your headphones LOUD enough, but if you want to drive headphones for a non-mixing situation where you will be listening to the *sound* of the things more than you would in a DJ situation... I'd suggest you get a real headphone amplifier. If you just wanna DJ mix, use your mixer like it was meant to be used!

You have an Audigy 1, yes? The Total Bithead, since it bypasses your sound card, would be a significant upgrade. Just make sure you ARE playing original CD's, and not mp3's, if you want this upgrade to really be worth it...
