WOW, I was just about to post this topic a few days ago and didnt get a chance, Good question.

Hes one of my favorite producers at the moment and i am interested and how they really get that groovy moving bass

it sounds like a pad or something

the grooves are in his percussion not his bass

Yeah i understand that, I am just praising him.

Just want to know really whats involved in his bass work, It sounds very full to me, thats totally the style i aim for, but cant really achieve.

sounds to me like it's a regular sinewave bass that's been run through a sidechain compressor.

Unfortunately for you, I just closed the tabs that had useful threads on sidechaining. However, I can tell you how I found them.

Go to futureproducers.com and search for "sidechain" and there should be a three-page discussion on it that contains some other links within....read all those. It also contains a link to kvr that has a free sidechain plugin for Cubase that the thread starter wrote - useful for really understanding what sidechaining is used for. Might also want to look up stuff on ducking, keying, and gating, three of the most common uses of sidechaining, not in that order.

Thanks again for the help. I already took care of it, i searched around and really just picked up bits and pieces from place to place including the places you gave me and kinda have a good idea on whats up..
