Wow, that video does make them look really good. I still need to try them out first before I decide to add a pair to my setup. I trust the Technics have fixed their little scratching glitch. I did notice that they didn't do any heavy scratching which still kinda avoids the whole digital distortion problems they were having earlier on. Maybe everything is fine now. Either way, impressive video and a promising product.

I have never seen a bigger tooth centered in someone's mouth quite like J. Roc's.

And I'm out like a fat girl in dodge ball

Really?, good to hear if there really good, I know you been DJin for along time, so its good to hear this coming from you, since I love the design of them, but was upset about some things like feel of the platter and the scratching sound, even though I don't scratch much.

Dirk: yea it sure does look promising, all they gotta really do now is low that retarded price.

It souds better because this guy does short scratching (i dont know what the proper name for that technique is), you cannot tell how bad the scratching is by watching this video, you could if this guy was scratching like that guy in the numarks video, but he is not going to do that b/c then you will discover how bad it sounds

When it comes down to it, i think all didgital scratching sounds shite.
Its simply an emulation of it- who does the best emulation of it is like asking who does the best body kit to make a toyota look like a ferrari- they all look wank, just some less wank than others....

The technics sounds better than the numark from what ive heard, and the pioneers may sound better than those two, but you are stuck with a small non spinning platter to do it with which is retarded. Like trying to steer a car with a pair of pliers instead of a wheel

Thats what draws me to the TechCDJ, the fact I can beatmatch the same way I do on my Decks, I've used the CDJ and its great, but that plastic spindle is not my thing.
All I want from a CDJ is being able to beatmatch like on a deck, and the CDJ has to be able to do loops, multiple cueing (the more the better), and be reliable, and so far the TechCDJ seems to be able to do all that, so for that unit, it comes down to reliablility, the motor is the same as the Tech 1200s, so I got no worries there, its all the other electronics that need to be put through the test of time, but that takes years, and I ain't waiting that long, I want a CDJ within the next 8 months, and so far its the CDJ800, CDJ1000 and this Tech that seems to be on my list, the Numark is great, but I can't get over the size and look of it, I know looks don't mean shit when DJin, but man, I just can't help it, put the CDX inside the Tech with the added features of the Denon and the scratch sound of the CDJ1000, and you'd have a winner.

The SL-DZ1200 seems more oriented towards turntablists. All their features are designed to promote turntablism. However, I am not a turntablist. I am a mixing DJ who look for features that helps me mix better. Important features that exist in CDJ-1000s not found in the Technics: wave data, pitch increments of .02%, auto-cue and better signal to noise ratio.

The video demo of the guy playing samples weren't impressive because they all sounded chopped up and broken.

In conclusion, for a turntablist the Technics are the way to go for now. For mixing, it's still the CDJ-1000 Mk2.

On a side note, I hear James Zabiela and John '00' Fleming are both helping in the design of the next CDJ-1000 model.

EDIT: Just found some interesting comparisions on the two players in this forum: http://www.pioneerprodjforums.com/u...o=&fpart=2&vc=1
