Thats what you get when your players back down a month before the games and you have to find reserves who have never played with each other before. They should have finalized the team a year ago and gave them a chance to play together. Now its just half assed thrown together basketball.

I think it was Allen Iverson who said now that they lost they know it wont be that easy and theyll work harder.
The U.S team just dosnt dedicate that much practice time compared to other countrys and they need to change that if their gonna want a medal.
If they dont step it up and destroy Germany today theyre in trouble.

It was an exciting buzzer beater give the guys a break... They would probably do that in a game with no fans at all there. Buzzer beaters are like holes-in-one in golf, no matter when it happens, you better celebrate it.

The USA team need to start working as a team rather than trying to be individual stars. I was quite surprised at the inclusion of Emeka Okafor in the team considering that he hasn't even played an NBA game yet.

The U.S will easily win the gold medal. Despite losing badly to Italy, they got all the weapons and will eventually improve their chemistry and own everyone. They don't even know how each of their teammates play and they're 2-1 regardless. They're too good to not win the gold medal, and Iverson said himself that the U.S will win the gold medal guaranteed. This is Iverson, not some unknown scrub player.

too many stars and no role players. ill still root for them but they havent looked all that good from what ive seen. they play lazy defense and the half court offense doesnt have any real movement or flow.

The team can't play as a team, man. Its not like whenever you put together a bunch of great nams you automatically get a good team (look at our footie team, although thats less extreme). There are a lot of European teams out there that have no multi-million dollar contracts and have entire shoe collections named after them, but they know how to play a 5-man defence and swing the ball until the other team's neck hurts coz they have to keep track of the ball (ok, exageration, but you get the idea). It will be enjoyable to watch the basketball games, and I'd like to see the US team win because they do play the most attractive ball out there, but its not the most efficient game.
