[Progressive] Matti Leppanen - Dreams (160kbit sample)

Hiya,

Been working on this track almost two months. And now it seems to be somewhat ready.

Sample Here

Sample starts from the middle of break.

EDIT: I've done some minor updates to the sample.

sup m8, this sounds pretty tight, quite relaxing but also with a deep tone...i like the added fx and the piano is nicely done, however if it were me producing the track i'd probly not make use of too much piano, perhaps cutting that down a bit and maybe adding another melody or something of the sort....but that's just me
in any case, good luck on this and the rest of your future productions
good stuff!

cheers

Yeah, ditto! I think it's great, I really like the piano and the pads.

some instruments remind me about solar stone.

however i don't think this tune should be considerd finished, you mite still wanne spice up the mix with fx and perc elements.

piano seems a bit to loud, pads are quite dark and nice.

Nice tune, the bass in it sounds good and it's quite unique, the piano chords give it quite a dark sound, but like somebody else said, I think there's a bit too much piano going on once it starts playing the riff, I guess I'd like to hear the piano notes just for one bar at the start of each 4 bar phrase, making the piano more of an effect, and having some subtle synths playing, I think that would sound nice... but it's your tune, not mine

When the clap first comes in it defintely remins me of another tune, just can't think what but it's a good tune

Thanx for the feedback. Really appreciate it.

Will have a look at the piano volume level.

To Massive84 (and anyone else of course) does it sound like Scott Bond VS Solarstone - Naked Angel... Because I was listening to naked angel few minutes ago and realised that the piano riff kinda sounds similar..

Sounds good. Regarding the feedback about the piano, I think instead of the piano being too loud it is just a little muddy, poss. coz it is very low pitched. Maybe eq / making it brighter would help?

Nice drum sounds + atmosphere.

This track has a really nice feel to it. Are you going to post the whole tune?

well, first off, because the sample starts from the middle of the break, i cant tell if what im hearing is appropriate for what im not hearing.
i really feel im missing a lot in here in terms of prespective, and i dont feel i can evaluate the construction of the track.

however, i can evaluate the mastering and the content to some extant:
the kick needs some more compression imo,
the piano is a bit muddy for me, while the pads are just beautiful.
and your missing something in the upper-middle end.
some more fx would be appropriate (as mentioned by someone else).
i would add another melody, from a diffrent source, probably something like a flute (that should cover the upper-middle end), something more catchy, even cheesy if necassery.

overall: donnow really,,, experimental stuff.
