I don't rate every song I listen to. As a result you don't see many negative reviews from me. I try to stay positive and honest in my reviews.
I only rate songs I enjoy greatly. It serves three purposes for me.
1) It gives you an idea about my tastes in EDM.
2) It brings forth a positive, non-confrontational, stand on what I believe is good EDM.
3) It allows DJ’s to see tunes I like that they can buy
I usually rate (those songs I enjoy) on a scale of 7- 10. If the song is below a 7 it wouldn’t merit a Dave Piazza recommendation. I do not waste my time on mediocre and poor production attempts.
I don't go into detail in a positive review because it’s only indicates my opinion of a track I enjoy. The reviews will just indicate how good the song is (i.e. 7-10). Again, the thread is showing my tastes in EDM.
I hope to form credibility with those who have similar tastes to me.
You might see me occasionally give a bad review but that’s only when I don’t agree with the dominate opinion of review. I try to bring my honest rationale to the review. It is only in these negative reviews I feel the need to explain and inform. Why? Because here I feel I am attacking the status quo and I need to explain my position.
