1200s vs those cd-vynil cd players?

What do you guys think is better to get those vynil acting cd player like technics SL-DZ1200 or pioneer cdj1000 or go turntables and get 1200MK5s

i currently have shitty cd player and want new gear, i borrowed my friend's turntable and i love it, but after fucking around with those cdj1000 and dz1200 it's hard to decide....

Depends on what you want to play... if it's available on CD, get CD players, otherwise vinyl. 90% of stuff is released solely on vinyl, but now with the digital download thing, long-term wise maybe it's a better option to get CD players, as more stuff will be available for that format. I have both CD and vinyl decks so I dunno lol, it really is a personal decision.

Most of my DJ friends, including me would agree that vinyl is best to start out with and then add cd decks to your collection. Most of the still prefer to spin on vinyl, but the economics and practicality forced them into using cd's

Everybody here saw that video here, and most of us agreed that the person who performed the scratching didn't do it properly on the technics.

But, I agree with what's said here. I've started out with vinyl too and now I'm about to add CDJ800's to my collection of equipment. I think that's the best way to start out...

i already have cd players and i've been spinnig for a while now. I want to upgrade my setup and was not sure what to get. I borrowed my friends 1200 and it's awesome, i think i'll just get a set of TT and keep the cd players i already have.

Thanks for all your input.

I just got a Numark cdx, has to be one of the best investments I have ever made. The effects are great and it still has the feel of a vinyl deck i'm not sure about the others as this is the only cd deck I have had a real good go on.

But if it came down to a choice I prob would still rather get the technics as they are awesome and if you get a good enough mixer you can do most the effects with that.

My view would be get the technics and a nice mixer and still keep your shitty cd player and run it through a apare channel.

1 little thing to remember about equipment (specifically if you want to end up playing in a club):

clubs usually have 2 turntables + (most of the time) 1 or more cd deck, and its very rare to find a club with 2 cd decks and 1 turntable. so i would say its for the best if you get 2 decks as opposed to new cd decks, then when you have some more £/$ you can go out and buy new cd decks.

then there is the price to consider you can buy a very good set of decks for the same price as 1 cdj1000 mk2
