No no no bro. I didnt touch the playing record. Im saying the second one i was matching. I turned to 2 percent got them matched then hit back to 0%. and they matched the whole way. Was it because of the same BPM going back to zero or....After you locate the right pitch do you always go back to 0%?

No man, you move the slider till you can get them beatmatched, when there beatmatched, DO NOT MOVE IT AGAIN, you only move the slider when you have to, if they are beatmatched, then theres no reason to move it.

I'm still not sure what you ment by you moved it to 2% got them beatmatched then moved back to 0%, I think what you actually did was, because you have the same 2 records, then when they are set at 0% then they are playing at the same speed, what you must of actually did was you moved it to 2% which speeded up your cued track until the beats were in sync, then you moved it back to 0% and of course then they are playing at the same speed with the beats in sync, this is matching with the slider instead of using your fingers on the platter, which is a good thing, but I prefer the good ol fingers on the platter way.

Hope this makes sense and clears things up for you.

What he means (I think) is that using two vinyls that were the same, he released one, the beats were a little out so moved the pitch slider to match the beats up, then cos they were the same song, moved it back to zero to keep the beats together (cos it was the same song, hence same bpm)

What the point of this exercise is (if I remember it correctly) is so you can get the beats together, and also practise dropping the vinyl on the kick. When you release the second vinyl, DON'T TOUCH the pitch slider, leave it at zero. Then either slow or speed up the vinyl to match the kicks together (remember, don't use the pitch slider). Slow by putting pressure on the side of the platter to slow it slightly, and release when the kicks are together. Speed it up by pushing the vinyl with your finger until the kicks match. If you practise this enough, just releasing the vinyl, you should get to a point where you can release the vinyl so it is already aligned and you don't need to manipulate the vinyl.

But anyway the kicks are now matched, and because you are using the same vinyl should stay matched. If you are using DIFFERENT vinyls, they will have different bpms, so the kicks will drift apart. THAT is when you use the pitch slider, to speed or slow the vinyl so that the songs are going at the same bpm. When the songs are at the same bpm, you leave the pitch slider at its point.

I didn't use that exercise you are doing when I started, you get used to matching kicks when you beatmatch.
