Evil1 Technics vs. Vestax: The War Rages On

Alright everybody. The battle between Vestax and Technics turntables seems to be a pretty close combat rage. For years the Technic's 1200's have been the industry standard for clubs and DJ's all over in our culture. But will Vestax PDX-2000 replace the 1200's slowly overall?I've heard reviews saying that Vestax are better with mixing/skratching, etc. Also, I've heard people saying that they'll become the industry standard.
I wanna know what you other DJ's think is going to happen. It's just something I wanna know.

Only time will tell. If clubs adopt the Vestax, and they have durability anywhere near that of the Technics, they they could very well take over. This is just one of those things we can only sit and watch happen.

Don't completely freak at whatever happens, though. Supposedly if you can mix well on Technics, Vestax are fairly easy to get accustomed to (Not for Sasha though!) - atleast that's the word on the street around here.

No way...Tech's are just too widely adopted.

Besides, if they have vestax, I will bring my own babies.

I think it depends entirely on the type of club. I don't think there's any way a trance/house/hard house/whatever club will ever adopt Vestax, simply because of the straight tonearm. It needlessly devours records and is no better for this type of music than the Techs. However, hip-hop clubs and others that scratch a lot way well go for the Vestax in time because the straight tonearm is ideal for scratching purposes, where the DJs obviously don't care if their records get scratched to buggery and back.

Well hell folks, the way i look at it is: All DJ's can mix fuckin' excellent with a pair 1200's so there really is no need for clubs all across the world to buy brand new Vestax 2000 tables at $500 U.S. a piece just cause they might be a little bit better( if they are that is) than the 1200's. Technics has established its dominance all across the world, and they are going to be tough, if not impossible to beat. I wouldn't buy anything else.

Question Sound Quality

What about sound quality in the two? I've heard Vestax has less sound quality than tech's due to the tone arm. Anybody ever compared the two?

Alot of ppl and clubs have the Techies...soo....IT will take time for them to realize that the vestax are a much better and designed table.....It's just a matter of time...my club now is going to be getting verstax in the near future...I have a pair myself and can say that they have much more torque then the techies.....
