Xone 62 vs ? Help

I currently have the xone 62 and really dont care for it. The eqs cut way to much out, and for home use it seems so clean it is hard to mix good when hooked up to my krk monitors, anybody have opinions about this mixer compared to the djm-600? Is pioneer coming out with anything new?

I'm not sure what you mean at all. I can say that i owned a Xone: 62 for two days, and didn't like it very much. My main concern was the fact that while monitoring from my headphones, the sound quality was really unimpressive, meaning that it was very hard to hear and distinguish two beats when more than one channel was cued. I also really didn't like the fact that you couldn't hear eq chnages in the headphones. I actually ended up taking mine back and exchanging it for a DJM 600 which I'm currently in love with. My personal preference lies with the DJM 600.

actual output sound quality, the a&h beats the shit out of the djm600. unfortunatly, that really is about all that the a&h beats the djm600 on in my opinion.

the djm600 might not look pretty, but its a lovely mixer to use and it has a great layout. the faders are nice and short, eq's seem to be about bang on, wicked x-fader (a&h x-faders are pants, except the one in the xone02? scratch mixer) and the effects are very good when used correctly.

if you are looking for a new mixer, it may be worth your while having a look at the nuo5, as it looks like the ultimate mixer.

For a mixer in the house, you really cant go wrong with the DJM, people go on and on about the A&H is miles better but IMO the DJM is a much easier mixer to use and has alot more features too. The A&H is all about quality build and sound, but unless its getting hammered every night through a phazon sound system then it reall isnt going to make all the difference. The good point is that you will sell it no problem for near enough the same price you bought it. My only advice is try the next mixer you buy before you buy it. That way you wont be in this situation again..

Oh my god. You think the Xone cuts too much and you wanna get a DJM600, you should smack yourself in the face because the DJM600 cuts all the way down (which is NOT a good thing).

And when you say you can't mix because the mixer sounds too clean, then there's something wrong with the person standing behind it.

Bullshit. A&H uses Penny & Giles faders for the crossfader (which are faders that are used in aircraft and such). P&G faders are the second best faders (next to a conductive fader).

So true!

We modify our Xone:62's so that you have equalizing on the CUE. It can be done. That's like the only bad habit of A&H (Vestax used to have this habit as well).

so why does it sound shite whenever i have used it for cutting? the curve adjustment hardly makes it sharp enough either... they may well be high quality faders, but they obviously ain't wired up as well as, for example, a djm600.

give me a PCV x-fader any day

Those are just specs. And take my word, NEVER believe the specs. A Pioneer cuts way deeper (for instance, when you cut the bass, sound level shoots 7dB down !!).

A DJM600 can NEVER measure up to the sound quality of an A&H. I guess you just had a so-called monday morning model.

Isn't that to do with how wide they cut?, I think thats called something like Q range, then theres another setting thats on EQs, basically I know that you can have 2 EQs that cut to the same db amount, but one is much different from the other.

As for mixers, I'd recommend either The Ecler Nuo5 or the Denon X1500 if your looking for an outstanding mixer, there both nuts, I personally went for the Denon and piss myself with fun when I get on it, I better stop now, I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it.
