First Attempt

I'm really starting to like progressive trance like markus schulz and stuff, so i thought i'd give it a go myself. This is my first attempt at this so don't expect too much

HELLO I AM AN MP3

Can people tell me what ive done wrong/right please? And any general improvements? I'm not really too familiar with the composition of such songs so i know i'm way off the mark here

Thankyou

PS. I used a few of Sciroccos samples from that pack he made

It is pretty nice. Just the hi-hats are too loud. And since it is one really mellow track, i think it should be like 5-6 bpm slower. It would be good to substitute those hats with some nice bassline, and add one higher note on those strings to make them more interesting.

I think u have something good going, Def need to EQ. But i usually do that as i go or later on.. I am actually trying to go for a similar sound as the tracks that markus schulz plays. What you have as a beginning is actually what i am trying to make and have a problem with.. Just the whole actual vibe and movement with really no percussion..

What did u use

Wow! If this is your first try ever, I am seriously impressed! That vibe you got going with those "waterish" effects was really great! Just as everyone else said, bring down the volume on the hats a bit...

Peace,

I used zeta for the pad sound, absynth for the weird sound, and absynth again for the little melody.

I'm gonna make sure I bring the hats down a bit (late night, just listened to it now, what was i thinking?! ).

Does it sound very progressive? How do i give it more energy? sounds really lacking to me.

And also, can anyone name a synth and preset which would be good for a bassline? I'm not sure how to do those rolling basslines, so, seeing it in a preset would really help!

Thankyou
