ok question,,,when u have a track queued up and it matches the other track pretty good...do u fade it in slowly or you just introduce it right where it matches the other track and then fade out...i tried both and i found when i didnt fade in and just dropped it when they matched it sounded pretty good as u dont even notice the second track. how do u guys introduce the queued up track? whats the best method?

I wait for a slight buildup towards the end of the first track, throw the other track in at a point where you can sorta hear the melody and gradually fade it in as the other track starts to end.

It depends on the tracks I am mixing together.

Totally. It depends on what the tracks are and how I want the transistion to go. Some times I'll just slam the track in if it works that way or I'll go for a longer transition if it works better that way. It just all depends.

There isnt a certain time where you drop every record, You first have to know your records...and what goes along with what, Take some time and listen to your records front to back, after awhile you will realize things like "hey....that would go good with that".....All in time my friend......

variety is the key
if you do the same mix all the time it will be boring not only for the people listening, but for you as well! there are soo many possibilities

well for me its a little differant... because not only does it depend on the trax im mixing but the genre as well...
though with Trance i try to be slower and softer... and ease it in unless im trying to keep erngy...
with Breaks i just up the track kinda fast... but i may also just have it playing untill the next frase and have the cross fader in the middle and both volumes at same levle and have the qued track on line in so you dont hear it untill the new frase starts then i switch to phono and sometimes that sounds good...
like i said all depends on the mood of the track and what im mixing
(by the way wouldnt advise trying the last mixing technique unless youd like it to sound like shit... dosnt work well with Trance...)

depends, i like a lot of variation in my mixes. It all depends on the sound. I love to mix in certain pieces of the melody or certain 'calm' pieces of the tracks when were talking about progressive, this style of mixing is fun to listen to but not really when dancing, because sometimes youre losing the beat WAY too long.
With other styles, like Marco V.'s techtrancy stuff ( call it what you like ), you can do that 'bringing in at once' and it sounds cool. I definatly (sp?) agree with Cosmic Realm, it all depends on the certain music and mood.
