MC909 internal sampling

How is the internal sampling (where the Roland MC909 makes a .wav or AIFF of it's internally mixed patterns / songs) work?

I want to take a song I mixed and sample it, then save it to my laptop via USB cable. In the laptop, make the .wav an MP3.
