Guitar Rig & Latency

Hey all,

I was woundering how i might lower my latency so i might play around with guitar rig in real time?

The lowest i have been able to get my latency is about 7ms, which is enough to mess me up when i am playing.

I have a brand new HP, 2.1 GHZ @ 512 MB ram, i have the built-in sound card, and a Mad Dog Multimedia Predator 5.1 sound card. I also have a Tascam us-122, but even with the newest ASIO drivers, i can only get the latency down to 27 ms.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

You sure that your getting 7ms latency there? You shouldn't notice a difference at all with 7ms.

You didn't meantion whether you were connecting to guitar rig standalone of via a host application (such as cubase).

I unfortunately don't know anything about the Tascam us-122 but judging from their website I'm sure you should be getting better than 27ms. Maybe email tascam to see if they can help?

Have you re-read (asuming you have already read) the manuals for both the US-122 and guitar rig?

Maybe try the NI forums to see if anyone else is having any problems.

Good luck.

when playing guitar, 7ms is enough to throw your timing off substantially i suppose.

i have read both manuals, and i can't get it any lower.
