cuz you've got a virus already you are pretty much sorted in the lead department so i would go for variety now and see if you can cover some more bases and just widen the sonic palette you've got at your disposal.
korg electribe - good for sequenced grooves and percussive loops. more of a sampler really...but it rocks. and its not that expensive.
korg ms2000 - good for basses and things. also fairly cheap considering what you get. theres a vocoder on it too.
USB Ultra Focus (VSTi) - this instrument just does everything. same league as spectrasonics atmosphere only more diverse.
Dave Smith Evolver - its not that expensive and its really different from most synths out there that ive heard. analogue synth (but it can do stuff that you wont have heard with traditional analogue) with step sequencer - ive heard some mad things coming out of it. cool to see some developers making synths outside of the usual virtual analogue mould.
