Oscar De La Hoya Vs Bernard Hopkins

"golden boy" meets "executioner" on september the 18th. cant wait to see this fight. really hope oscar pulls this one off as he wud then won legitimate world titles at 6 different weights and become the undisputed middleweight champ of the world (plus get about $17 million). hopefully oscar trained properly this time unlike the sturm fight, as hopkins will be out for the KO.

Oscar should have stuck with fighting throughout, but his pretty face has gotten him into too many outside projects the past few years. When De La Hoya was strictly fighting, I'd say he could take him in a decision, but I think Hopkins will have the focus to win a decision. No matter what happens, I see a decision, not a KO.

A definite decision.....for Hopkins.Oscar has a good chin, but lacks power and stamina in the later rounds.

I hope Hopkins ends De La Hoya's career for good. Felix Sturm won that fight clearly but the judges being the asses they are, gave the decision to the golden boy. Hopkins is a mouthy **** who I'd like to see have his ass kicked but not right now, he will win the fight in the 11th round via KO, sending the pretty boy out for the count. Then Hopkins will face someone and get his ass kicked and tta will be happy because he cannot stand either of the fighters. Why do they always show a picture of De La Hoya hitting Arturo Gatti in the promos. Gatti has clearly fought better opposition over his career and has not been a pussy in selecting people to fight and his 3 fights with Mickey Ward were more legendary than Hopkins and De La Hoya combined. Sorry about that but Gatti is the king of grit and always will be.

Anyway, I find it too bad that Hopkins did not give the rice to De La Hoya at the prematch conference like he did with Tito (if that ain't enough, I got more in the car :stongue. I think this will go 10 rounds plus and I think De La Hoya will be KOed over dropping his hand or getting caught with some quick uppercut. It could go either way infact, I predict a KO by some quick shot in the later rounds, I don't expect a decision between them, I hope i see one of them crash to the canvas (almost as fun as seeing the mouthy prince get his ass handed to him that one time). Should be a good fight, too many fights in boxing are champions picking stiffs and not fighting the people that deserve title shots and if you look at gatti vs. ward, the rematches were not really about money, it was about who was better and that's what boxing needs, more wars between people.

If you don't have a clue what I'm saying, find the 1st fight, which was a beating and to this day, I have no clue how both were still standing in the middle of the ring, throwing bombs, cut over both eyes. I've never seen a fight like that.

I do think that the winner of this match fights Tito down the road, if he wins. Even tho my intense dislike for both fighters, I don't wish a 2nd round KO (like ol roy jones jr.). I'll be in the bar yelling at teh screen for this one, should be a classic either way.

Go Bernard Hopkins, I have always hated Oscar De La Hoya, but I have always been a Sugar Shane fan.

Maybe now Oscar can stick to his music career

Quite a specific prediction. I agree tho, the golden boy's gonna be KO'ed in this one. He's overstepped his bounds as a boxer and is gonna pay for it on his chin this time....Severely

nah cant see a ko, even tho oscar dont bob and weave as much ne more. oscars got a fantastic chin even tho he wont have felt a true middleweight punch, hes also got lots of heart. oscar got more skillz than bernard, but he need to bring his speed of punch up to middleweight successfully if he gonna win this one.

also on a side note, i hope trinidad knocks the fuck out of Mayorga.

But Bernard has the years of experience and he is in great shape and he has some fast hands.

I hope one of the two's careers gets ended by this fight

Hopefully it would be De la hoya's so he can make another album. Love his voice.

He will win though. He knows too many people don't care about him anymore so he has to get more fans on his side.
