and I thought everyone was being hard on him saying he sucks at djin. well, they weren't exaggerating, he was the worst dj I ahve serious ever seen.
heres some notes I made during his set (which he got on a little before 2am, and left a little after 3 am.....1 hour 20 mins max).
the top count is noticable trainwrecks....these were all out of control ones. there were 7.
the ones below that are when he plays a track until the end and then just started a new track.....that was 3 times (not including the first song of his set).
this does give me hope that I can make it big one day, cause the set I threw down today was way better than his. hehe, no flow, no transitions, a lot of people just sat around doing nothing inbetween songs.
anyways, I got hit on by a girl. she used the old 'do you have a lighter' line on me. and me being the non-smoker said negative. and that was that.
so next time someone says, well oakie was big early on and got everyone into trance, you can say well he freakin sucks ass at mixing.

Exact same thing happened when I saw him last year. Inexistent set structure, terrible track selection, and horrendous mixing.
How does one honestly justify voting for Oakenfold in the DJ Mag poll?

yea I know. Funny thing was I told a guy right when oakenfold got in the dj booth that oakie should cut his hair, and he replied that oakenfold was teh bald guy who had been djing the last 2 hours.
so apparently people have no idea who he is, rather they just know his name.

Whats even worse, how the hell did this guy end up being number one for 4 years or so????
I think it's gonna have to b a big surprise if it's not Tiësto again, viewing his good album work and the privilege to be the dj at the Olympics opening ceremony.
As for being bored at sets, it instantly makes me think of dave clarke, you wont be bored for a sec with that guy, except if u dont like techno that is His beat juggling still makes em one of the best out there for me.

Always take a lighter with you for back-up (even if you don't smoke)
