Review - Edge102 Brit Pop Night - The Mod Club

I know a lot of you are WTF is this doing on this site.

Two Reasons

1. For a change of pace

Went last night for the opening night of this new live to air and to check out The Mod Club for the first time. Good times! Everything from Oasis, U2, Travis, The Cure, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, SpaceHog. Good crowd, amazing venue. I will definetly go back for a change of pace, anyone else looking for something a little different check it out.

2. Memo to any promoters

The Mod Club would be an amazing place for an EDM event. Really cool set up, good system, great lights, nice staff. For an intimate smaller gig, this would be a great place. Check out their site.

Last night was a very fun crowd. People drinking, dancing (well i think that's what it was) :P. Age was 20 - 35, t-shirts and jeans, a couple people were dressed a little better, and 1 guy who was loaded wearing a kilt.

I don't know what the crowd is the rest of the time, but last night was good.

I've said that to myself many times there, it's an awesome venue, and would love to see some EDM event there.

I love listening to the Edge's LTA shows - the Sat night from the Phoenix and the RetroSundays from Joe, in particular - both have been around for ages
Great change of pace music-wise...you hear a wide range of stuff
The little bit of last night's show from The Mod that I heard was really eclectic.

(gotta love the 'mixing' though)

Miss Kitten was there. That was an awesome event.

The crowd in that place was the best EDM crowd I've ever seen.

If I had to choose a non EDM night to attend in the city it would be the BRIT POP night at the Mod Club. Really friendly drinking crowd and Mr. Holmes and his mates put on a pretty slick show. It is where Revival used to be a few years back before it caved and became a top40 905er club where Kylie M. is considered brit pop. WTF!

I agree, The Mod Club would provide a sweet enviroment for a killer EDM party.
