that's it? i have $8500 on one of my cards.  i actually have too many credit cards. i never use them, except for two [amazon & BP], but have the others just to help establish credit - and for dire emergencies i suppose]
what you gotta do tho, is get one of those cards that gives you rewards for shit you use.
for example, Amazon or BP/Mobile/Shell [basically any gas cards - that can be used anywhere, but give you free points/money for gas purchases].
actually, my BP gas card i have, i get 3% cash back on BP gas purchases and 1% on everything else. and for the first three monts it was 6%/3% [which kicked ass because i bought a shit load of stuff, and got several $25 gas cards]. and when i want to redeem my money, i can get gift certificates for more than just gas - i can even get the money straight up.
if you fly alot, getting one w/ mileage points is good too.
really, if you get a credit card, and you don't get any rewards back, you're missing out.
