Exclamation Need your opinion on this bassline

There are two samples of the same bassline, one with a kick (for reference, had to make sure I wasn't jumping on it) and one without. If you like it, why? If you hate it, also why? What would improve it? thanks in advance. Each sample is just over 2 minutes, and 192kbps resolution.

Kick: ftp://tranceftp:[email protected]

No kick: ftp://tranceftp:[email protected]

Thanks again

The kick is only there to make sure that it sits in place without stomping on the rhythm and vice versa. What would thicken up the bass?

On its own, the bassline is pretty thick. In the song, it'll either have to stay the same or even lose some of its bulk to make room for the other sounds, so leave it as it is.

That's what I was concerned about. Its part of a track I'm working on now, and if I thicken it up, it detracts from everything BUT the kick. Its already layered and subbed somewhat.
