Friends!

Ever have a very close friend move far away from you? How did you deal with it?

The closest thing I have ever had to a brother is moving to Hawaii this weekend. Youo know a friend that you can say you love in front of other peeps in public and not care for their response. I am losing my mind. I am crying my eyes out (for those of you who know me I never cry), and I am pretty sure I will be a crunky mess at Victor's good-bye party plus the fact of my ankle.

Just needed to vent. Also, knowing that I have many friends on this board helps too.

Not to sound unsensitive to your problem, but I can only suggest that you let time pass and do the fixing.

I personnaly am totally unsensitive to where I live and near whom..... It's a good and a bad thing.

I feel like I live a life of zero commitment and readiness for full abandonment at any given time.

Why you may ask?

I've lived in about 10~15 different places in my life. None of them were ever close to each other ( more like at least 200 miles minimum on each move ). Crossed regions, countries and continents.

It's a hard thing to go through growing up I only know the feeling too well.
Difference is I was always the one leaving. I NEVER experienced someones departure so in that particular aspect I could have it all wrong.
I have childhood memories of moving to a new location and having this fantasizied ( typo ) belief that I would go to such and such school 4 years later but that never camed to be.

You ultimately have no choice unfortunately and are faced with one single and simple fact " Live with past memories good and bad as they are what formed and shaped you to become what you are today".

Just a bit of rant on my side too and I apologize for that too.

Don't let this bring down, send the person away with your blessings.
And as Bryan suggested, look forward to going to Hawaii

Good luck!

awww adam i have never met u in person...and yet i can totally sympathize that its very hard to lose a really close friend. just try to keep in touch as best as u can...and see what happens going forward...from past experience i find that close friends do not truly lose touch with each other...u mite not see them as often but somehow the real ones just keep coming back into ur life...

and yeah like vtec said...now u have a reason to visit HAWAII!!! wow!!

It's fine you are entitled to your own opinion. But if you are going to post something like that. Atleast spell the word right. INSENSITIVE!

I Really feel bad for you man. I went trough that problem and I went trough depression also but it got to me so bad that....well just read ahead if you want to know the story.

My best friend and I have been best friends since i was in kindergarden and he was in 2nd grade(he is 2 years older than me). My first day i had no friends and I was a very shy kid. So he offerd me a seat and JUST in the 2nd day i asked him if he wanted to come over my house. WE just hanged out playing nintendo or went out and ride around the hood in bicycles. This place was very ghetto but we found ways to have fun. Around 1996 6 houses burned down becuase of some homeless guy 3 houses away from me. That day I did not go to school, i stayed over someones house across from my house, my grandmother almost died, my mom went back inside to look for my grandmother knowing she would probably not even get to her(i would of lost both). Good thing is everyone survived. That day I called my friend and told him not to pick me up(this was when i was in 2nd grade). I was happy that no one died in my family(the bum that started the fire died). That same day around 10Pm We found a hotel my family and I can stay at. Luckyly (i forgot what company or something) payed for our stay at the hotel. let me tell you somethign...living in a hotel with no friends for 3 months and you have notting to do is pure torture to an 8 year old. During those 3 months I did notting besides eat, sleep, watch TV, and find a home to rent till we finnaly had enough to BUY a home. That fire and the fact that I did not have my best friend with me traumatized(did i spell that right lol) me. I did not feel like doing ANYTHING, I was basicly dead. I also did not have any friends becuase school was out at the moment. Only person i saw was my puppylove girlfriend back then lol. So finnaly around September I started school(now i was in 3rd grade) and moved into a rented house. Over that horrible summer I gained over 40-50 pounds, I think i grew a lot during that time. I was still sad but I found a neighbor that i made friends with(he was only 5 so he wasent very fun). After 2 weeks I noticed its just not the same. I cant see my best friend, i lost all my friends from school(thats really hard on a 8 year old), and I had to go to a new school. In the new school I just cursed anyone that got near me. So lets just fastforward now lol. Now I started 4th grade (1998)and I felt better becuase over the past year my friend and I talked on the phone a lot. Fourth grade was not bad at all becuase I met 2 friends that are still my best friends right now and i just felt more open to people. So my mom got this idea to make me a bit happier. My mom said lets invite him over for thanksgiving and xmas. So he came over and we had a ball. Now he celebrates both with my family every year. Now lets really fastforward. I think it was trough 2000-2001. I was 13/14, and my friend now went to high school(a freshman). And High school is only 3 blocks away from me. this could of been THE BEST thing that could of happend to me. We finnaly....after so many years chilled EVERYDAY. Around late 2001 my friends mom said she was moving near us. So she did and He came over my house REALLY everyday without the worry of taking a city bus back home. So now My best friend is out of high school i am in 11th and we hangout every week, band practice as much as we can, and a lot of other shit.

The point of my story is to tell you not to let it hit hard. Like i said I gained over 40-50 pounds. Between those years i kept gaining weight becuase i dint go out and play like every lil kid supposed to. My friend also gained weight. It got to him also. I wasent around so he had no one to play with.

Yeah Adam, That's pretty fockin shitty. I feel you on it because I went thru it. Only difference is, I'm the one that moved away. It takes time, but "this to shall pass" and everything will work itself out one way or another. Chin up Brotha. We're here for you if you need us.
