Thanx for all the info so far... It's been very helpful. I'm not worried about the phonos as I would only use it for computer mixing.

I have final scratch but would not reccomend it, The sereto one has a much better reputation although I havent tried that. I had to buy a sony laptop in order to get it working properly, it didnt work at all on my old laptop (when I say old it was still very high spec!) I still get problems getting it to work straight away and have to reboot at least once every time I use it. I would dare use it live its nowhere near reliable enough.

To be honest, I would avoid FS and all other programs like it, and instead get CD turntables.
If you want the feel of vinyl, then just buy records. The sound quality of the analogue record is better anyways.
If you still want a digital format, go with CD decks. Why? You can just do so much more with a nice CDJ than you can do with vinyl or a vinyl emulator. I know I use this example a lot, but just look at what James Zabiela does... these kinds of tricks are just impossible with an analogue record.
I just don't see any advantage FS and it's ilk have over a CD turntable. CD's are light, cheap and easy to burn, not to mention computers and their software are potentially unstable, theres sound quality issues with FS as mentioned above, etc. If you're going to use a digital format, use CDs.
