Upgrading RAM

I need more memory for my laptop because it's 256 MBs don't have the balls to handle FinalScratch and Garagband...can't record because Garageband records choppy and slow.
How much would it be if I got a upgrade to a gig on a Apple Powerbook G4?

Start looking here ( http://www.dealsontheweb.com/ ), it is my favorite mac deals site. From what I remember 256MB is standard on a powerbook, so you should have a free memory slot. This is good because you should be able to add any RAM you get without replacing the stick you already have.

Buying RAM from Apple is usually a rip. Crucial is a great memory website.

http://www.crucial.com

I recommend going to that website and using their forms to find you powerbook. They will then show you which RAM will work in that computer.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I think I will buy from Crucial. They seem to have somewhat of a credible feel to them(never know nowadays).

They are real solid. I always order my RAM from them. They actually manufacture the ram they sell, most places are selling someone elses RAM (or else they buy it and just put their name on it).

Yeah crucial is really good. Crucial is a division of Micron, who is the world's largest ram prodcuer. And they also have a lifetime warranty and great rma service. (the pc shop i work for now only uses crucial/micron ram b/c it's flawless, and we can easily order ram that will work in almost any type of pc/mobo)
