i read an article that said 15,000. but regardless it was a really good time. |
I read that article, and I can tell you without a doubt that's a bullshit number.
_Maybe_ 15,000 at the beginning of the parade, but by the time the parade ended and the festival was going full-force, there were A LOT more than 15,000 people.
I've been to events with 60,000 people and going by the size of the festival and how it was relatively packed, there seemed to be a lot more people at the LP than there were at the events I've been to.
And when I give my number, I am taking into account those who came and left. Know tons of people who came for the first few hours then left to prepare for the afterparties. Know others who weren't there at the beginning and came in the early evening to partake in the festival. I'm sure there were a ton more people who were doing things like this.
Maybe 100,000 people didn't come out when it was all said and done, but the number is a lot closer to 100,000 than 15,000.

Ahhh, I only thought about 30.000 to 45.000 peeps showed at the most. If 100.000 people showed, the street along with the all the sidewalks would have been wall to wall people. More likely 30.000.
Next year, I do expect MORE media coverage, hopefully on a national basis. As for this event creating a more positive view on the EDM, it was like a knight in shining armor for all of us! I haven't heard anything negative yet about the event or the after party events either. Good times had by all.
-Although on a sidenote, if this was held in any other city...I really don't think it could have gone off as well as it did.

Kids dying at raves will always be covered by news more than peaceful events like this. It sucks but thats the media for ya.
